I am 51 years old and finishing up my associate degree at a community college. I applied for Cal State Fullerton to complete the online degree program. My application was denied because they’re impacted and they stated my GPA didn’t meet their requirements.
Not sure how or what to do at this point. I prefer my classes online, but not interested in Phoenix or expensive schools.
Has anyone been in this situation before? If so, how did you handle it?
Thank you
There are no other Cal states that offer your degree on-line? What about ASU on-line?
Thank you for replying. There are a few locations, but one other thing that’s important for me is walking. ASU…is that Arizona?
CSU Fullerton offers online bachelor’s degree programs in business and sociology.

For business, other CSU online bachelor’s degree programs can be found at Channel Islands, East Bay, and San Diego. Fresno has a hybrid program, and Bakersfield, Chico, and Monterey Bay have hybrid specialty business programs.
For sociology, Chico has an online bachelor’s degree program, and San Marcos has a hybrid program.
Thank you Gumymom and ucbalumnus. I may have to consider one of these other locations. Will just need to take a trip to participate in graduation when the time comes.
What can you afford?
What is your major?
Lots of good places offer online programs these days. If you can afford the out-of-state fees, look at http://www.umuc.edu/ and http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/ both of those have been around for years.
I completed a masters degree online. It was great fun to meet some of my classmates in person at graduation, and to get to visit with my professors. I completely understand your desire to walk when the time comes!
@ happymomof1 - I am trying to keep my costs down. Don’t want to be in major debt going to school. The costs of the Cal State schools are about where I’d like to keep costs. My job reimburses so my intention is to pay out of pocket, get reimbursed using that money to pay for the next semester. My major is Business Administration.
EDIT - I clicked on the UMUC and seeing some things I like already. Federal staff members get discounts. That would be me!!
Thank you.
