Application due november 1, what timezone?

The University of Michigan app is due Nov. 1, is it due by 11:59 PM eastern timezone? Or my timezone I live in? Or any timezone?

Timezone they live in I think. Nonetheless, it’s 9 PM EST right now. Better submit it in the next 3 hours to be safe.

All they say is “postmarked” by end of Nov 1. In other words it is ambiguous. You are probably safe if by midnight of your time zone for on-line app but you won’t be timely if you are doing it today. Everything has to be postmarked by Nov 1 including the counselor’s form that is part of the app and which gets sent with your transcript. In other words if you have not already done that, you won’t be able to do it today.

As to what it means if you are late, very little. Michigan follows rolling admissions. The early response rule simply guarantees a response (admit, deny or defer) by Dec 24 but most who apply Nov 2, 3, 4, and some days thereafter will also probably have a decision before Dec 24 (they just won’t be guaranteed one)
