Should I only talk about one activity that I am passionate about in my essay, or can I string together a few passions I have and provide anecdotes for each proving my involvement?

i think just put ur focus on one [meaningful] thing would be better =)

They dont want you to write about your most important activity or passion. The short answer is for that.
The personal statement should be something that gives the admissions committee an idea of who you are. All the parts of your application should fit together and support one another so that the admission committee can imagine you being a part of that campus and having something significant to contribute.
Write about something that you have not talked about but ties in with the other parts of your application and gives an idea of what is unique about you.

Thanks!! For future reference, can you also please indicate whether you’re an alum, student, or prospective student?

This is wrong. If your passion or most important activity makes for a good essay and reveals who you are, go for it. Don’t write an essay about scoring the winning touchdown to get to the state football championship, though.

i agree with C02 …also if you are going to provide anecdotes…whether it is one/several for one activity or one for a few activities they should be about what you learned from the activity and how you’ve grown etc. not solely about your involvement

Do I have to have learned or grown from it? Or can it just reveal my qualities. Unless learning more about who I am is also considered learning?

Also, people have told me that if I were to write about too many activies, it shows that I’m not really focused and I’m all over the place. But my anecdotes kind of show that I’ve been quite passionate about what I’ve been doing. Given this, do you think it’s better that I narrow my focus or can I still write about several activities?

Thanks!
