Application Fee on Common App

I'm a New York City resident and I just submitted the supplement, but when i tried submitting the common app, they said I had to pay first.

What is up with this? Don't New York residents get their fee waived? Do i have to go to their website to get something filled out?

i hope you understand that NYU is a private school, therefore, it has no connections with the state...you have to pay the fee no matter where you live unless you have a waiver...

FYI, NYU has the worst financial aid package..
In their dictionary, there's no such word like "fee waiver."

lol @ other responses. yes if you are a NYC resident, you get your app fee waived. choose "other" under fee waivers. That's what I did. I was unsure but after asking my counselor, its the only option that makes sense. I hope this isn't too late!

If you use the NYU application, and you wrote your zip code earlier in the app, the only option they give you is the fee waiver if you attend a school in New York City (or any of its 5 boroughs). So I didn't have to pay, but my friend who used the Common App and goes to the same school as me payed because it didn't give her this option.
