Application Figures for Class of 2016

<p>Princeton reports a 1.6% drops in application, down 452 from 27115 to 26663.</p>

<p>USC is new to the common app this year.
I wonder how much influence this change will have on acceptance percentage.</p>

<p>^I think their acceptance rate goes down from 23% last year to ~19-20 with a massive spike in applications from the CA switch. A 22% increase in apps would be in line with other recent CA switches at top schools. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them leapfrog their way into the top-20 USNWR over the next few years. And with that, perceived prestige will also increase, further increasing USC’s recognition.</p>

<p>USC is my top choice, so this puts me in an awkward situation. I want them to get a spike in apps and higher USNWR ranking, but I don’t want it so high that I can’t get in :(</p>
