I am filling out my IU Application right now, and I realized that they are not asking me for my grades, SAT/ACT scores, essays, teacher recs, etc.
I don't know if I'm doing this correctly..
They are just asking me to put down all my personal information such as my home address, phone number, parents' information, activities information etc.

I thought that they would at least ask for my school grades.
Does the "real" application process (meaning, putting in my school grades, SAT/ACT, teacher recs, essays) happen AFTER I pay for my application?

I am so confused and it would be nice if someone straightened things out for me!

After that you can submit your test scores and transcripts (if your school does online transcripts, if not fill out the counselor form and mail that in).
The application is weird because they don’t really tell you that they received anything.

Btw, there are no essays or teacher recs since IU is number based. Also, if you are applying for direct admissions, make sure you review the admissions standards.

It might seem odd that the application does not ask for that information, but IU does collect it. The directions indicate that IU needs three or four pieces of information: your application, your transcripts, your officially reported test scores, and the counselor form. I think some schools put the test scores on the transcript. I’ve been told IU will accept those scores as official, but you should confirm that. If not, you need to have your scores sent to IU. The transcript has your grades, rank, etc. The counselor form confirms your classes and GPA/rank.

IU needs that information, but it needs to come from a third party eg. counselor, College Board, etc.
