Application Form

On the application form, some boarding schools ask you what other boarding schools you're applying to. I'm applying to 6.

Should I just write down 6? What if they don't think I'm serious about this whole thing.

And if I just write 3-5, do I write down the better BS I am applying to or what?

Thanks in advance.

I don’t think there’s a wrong way to do this. They aren’t going to make a judgement about you based on how many and which schools you are applying to. I say if there isn’t very much room right down your top choices, but if its online or something you can just write all of them. Whatever feels right, because trust me, in the long run, it wont matter.

biancastarflare - are you applying to these schools for Fall 2012, or for Fall 2013?

fall 2013, i know I’m a little too early right now, but I’m live in Asia and we’re scheduling an interview sometime this December

do you mind me asking where you are applying?

exeter, andover, choate, lawrenceville, blair, and nmh
is it too much?

Not at all - that’s a perfect amount of schools.

Yes, that’s fine! And you picked some good ones too :D

thank you for your replies (:
do you think with average grades, an average SSAT score, 5 years of piano, 5 years of drums, 3 years of percussion, 3 years of varsity soccer, 4 years in student council (President and VP), good recs, good essay and good interviews will get me in any of these schools?

I mean, no one can for sure tell you except AO’s. “good recs/essay/interviews” are all dependent on your definition of “good” and theirs. Just keep up the extracurriculars, maintain high grades, etc. One school may love your personality while another hates it. So it really is all subjective to the admission committee.

I know how you feel, though. Just do your best in all of the application aspects and don’t take yourself too seriously! :)
