Application Frustration!

Hey guys,

So I submitted my application on November 29th but I accidentally only submitted my essay topic C although I had my essay for topic B completed as well. Because I submitted my essay C prior to sending in my application, I notice that it says my essay topic C has been “submitted and sent” whereas my essay B which I uploaded earlier today (after submitting my application) and it only says “sent.” Additionally, when I check UT’s “MyStatus” website, it says that I have yet to submit my two essays however the website also states that it takes time before MyStatus is updated with your information. My question is, will UT still receive my essay B even though I already submitted my application and the essay was submitted a day before the deadline? It should work, after all ApplyTexas seems to handle essays independently from the application itself, but of course I may be wrong. After all, I technically had everything submitted a day before the deadline.

I noticed that the last line says “You can submit an essay on-line at any time as long as you have a saved or submitted application on file.” so would that mean I’m in the clear?

'Grace Period for Uploaded Items"

“If you submit your 2016 summer/fall ApplyTexas freshman application immediately before or on the deadline, we will consider uploaded items and online forms on time if you submit them through 11:59 p.m. (Central time) on Tuesday, December 8. You won’t be able to use the Document Upload System or submit your Student Information Form until we receive your ApplyTexas application—that can take up to three days after submission.”

So I think you are ok, but maybe you should submit things as early as possible in the future :stuck_out_tongue:

Remember after accessing MyStatus you still must fill out some stuff, and it can take up to three days for them to receive your ApplyTexas app. Until they get it, you can’t really fulfill those requirements. You’re on a bit of a tight deadline but I think you’ll make it.
