Hi guys! I’m an international student. I applied to Drexel University as undergraduate for fall 2015 through CommonApp. I got an email from Drexel 4 days ago that all my application materials have been received and sent to admission team. Yesterday I got an email that my application was withdrawn. They didn’t write any reason. I’m really freaking out about this. It’s Sunday today and tomorrow they won’t work, I can’t call them.
Does this happen to anyone? Or does it happen to international students sometimes? What are the reasons? I know application can be withdrawn for not sending some documents or scores on time, but I did sent everything on time and made sure that they received everything.
yes, I understood that… I’m just worried that I screwed up something on my common app and since I applied to my other colleges also through CommonApp , I’m worried that every college will withdraw me and I will end up without college enrollment and have a gap year or something
Was it incomplete for any reason? Could you have written something on the additional info section without meaning to? Colleges won’t “withdraw” an application for a trivial reason.
Sometimes you are able to withdraw your app right on their admission portal. I know you can do this for UChicago. Perhaps you were trying to check the status of your app and accidentally hit the “withdraw” link?
Whatever the case, just call/email to get this worked out.
Thank you guys. I called them. They said it happened because I have 3 years gap in education. I should have applied as a transfer student. But I can’t apply as a transfer because I don’t have college credits. And I can’t apply as a freshman because I have 3 years gap. Weird policy. None of the other colleges, which I applied , doesn’t have this policy.
Were you enrolled in a college course or courses that you didn’t finish? If you attended any college after high school they would probably consider that a transfer even if you dropped out. If you didn’t attend college, I would think you’d be a continuing ed or adult student. What college is this?
