Application Help Questions Please Help!!

I am a senior in high school applying to USC online, however I am somewhat confused about the process and I haven't received much information from the website. I have a few questions, mainly:

1)In addition to the online application, what other forms do I need to submit? Are they the teacher/counselor report with the attached letter of recommendation, the SAT/ACT student report with a printout of my scores, and the transcript request form with an attached official printout of my transcript? (I am not applying to an area of study that requires further supplements.)

2) If I am in fact supposed to mail them in, then how? I completed Part I of the application in September but I have yet to receive a Part II in the mail. On the contact us site it states to use the envelopes that came with your Part II application when mailing things to the admissions office, is that only for entirely paper applications? Or any papers a part of you application (like the ones in my first question)? Could I just use a regular mailing envelope if need be, and if so would all materials need to be in the same envelope?

3) I am still waiting on one subject test score for the November SAT for Literature, which I've already taken. If I mail the SAT report now, will the scholarship consideration committee be able to see my new test grade if I just report the score after its been released through the College Board site?

4) Does all information need to be mailed at the same time? What if they receive my online application by the deadline but any supplement envelopes after?

Thank you, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have to tell you- I think maybe some of the regulars here who help answer these types of questions may be thinking the same-

Your questions are legitimate. You need to know all this information. I probably asked all these same questions the first time doing apps. But in the past few weeks, all of your questions have been asked and answered here many times. Most of your questions are answered on the website- the USC Admission site has a list of what to do. I could link you to it but I think you should try to find it. It will make you a stronger candidate.

I guess I’m just not having a good day or I’ve finally reached my limit. Maybe you’ll get lucky and someone will answer you here. If not, go to the USC Admission website, scour the past few pages of threads on this USC forum, and use the Advanced Search function here on College Confidential. If you REALLY can’t find an answer, come back and ask again.

Sorry to take this out on you- I wish you luck.

(Someone stop my from clicking the “Post Quick Reply” button before it’s too late…)

(I must confess - I looked at this one earlier and after contemplating typing it all up again I thought to myself, “I will leave this to cc411 to answer…”)

So here goes!

1) PERFECT. Here are the forms: http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1011/Form4_2010.pdf</a> http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1011/Form5_2010.pdf</a>
2) Regular envelopes are fine. If you need addresses, check post #4 on the FAQ for USC Admissions thread stickied at the top of this forum. If you need your USC ID try logging in here https://camel2.usc.edu/ESD/IOL/login.aspx</a> with your username and password you used for your application (as you have not submitted your part 2, it is not likely to work). Don’t wait for a Part 2 in the mail - get to work on it online. Use your social security number or birthdate on Form 4 and 5 if you don’t have your USC ID.
3) Probably. As soon as you get an online score report, FAX it in using the FAX cover sheets that will be available on Oasis after you submit your application. If you can’t find the FAX cover sheets, just send it in with your USC ID (or ssn or birthdate…)
4) No, it does not have to be mailed together. Get the online application in on time. Get all supplemental materials in on time. If a recommendation comes in a day or two late, it will probably be okay.

Best of luck and we are THRILLED you are applying to USC!!! (We would be a teeny-tiny bit more thrilled if you used the search function to find answers to the questions that have been answered over and over and…) Fight On!

Thank you very much! Yes, I know these answers are strewn throughout this forum and the USC website, it’s just I can’t seem to find some that unequivocally answer the questions I have. Or maybe they do and I’m over thinking everything. In either case thanks for taking the time to write concise responses.
