<p>I'm currently an eligible resident (greencard) in US, didn't attend college for a year for some stupid reason, and went back about two years ago. I just don't want to talk about that. Trying to cover it with a "overseas trip" in my application, which would be easier to explain. Are the UC guys have the rights to access my tax return, entering/leaving country record and something else based on my SSN?</p>

<p>as a citizen or permanent resident, I think it is illegal not turning in a tax return.</p>
