Application "incomplete" ?

I submitted my application to UMD under regular decision. But a month later, my application still says “incomplete.” I contacted UMD and they said it was because my SAT scores were received under a different name (I did not register with collegeboard with my given first name…I know, dumb mistake). I thought it was weird UMD did not notifiy me of this issue, (side note: a peer of mine never received a decision from UMD when she applied early because a reccomendation of hers didn’t go through, which she was oblivious to). Anyway, I was told my scores matched up with my application and it should say “complete” within 48 hours. Today, a week later, it is still says “incomplete.” I called back today and the girl I spoke to said the 48 hours timeframe meant my application would appear “complete” to the admissions board in 48 hours, but it would take “an extremely long amount of time” for my application to say “complete” when I check it. I’m nervous and feel like I’ve been told different things. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience like this and can offer some peace of mind. Maybe I’m paranoid, but I just want my application to be completed before admissions decisions are made. Thank you for your response in advance!

@purpleoutlet are you currently a community college student? I applied to UMD by priority decision because of Mtap, and one of my professors could not submit in a recommendation by the priority deadline (March 1st), and it says on my portal that my recommendations were not received even through she was the only professor out of 3 that coundlt submit it in, the other professors did through. My application was able to go through through because recommendations are not required in the first place. Regular decision for UMD deadline is June 1st, so you have plenty of time, I would wait until around April to see if its complete if not then I suggest you call the admission office. Good Luck
