<p>even though the deadline is not upon us just yet, i have already submitted my application. today i got a confirmation that the office recieved it and i was SO EXCITED i just had to post here and announce it! </p>
<p>does anyone know about merit aid offered at the time of admission? how exceptional do you have to be to get some of this type of aid?</p>
<p>Um, you have to be pretty durn exceptional, so I wouldn't count on it, though the possibiity exists. THe thing is so many smithies have such similar academic profiles, it's a bit hard to tell in advance.</p>

<p>Zollman, STRIDE, and Mary Maples Dunn (??) scholarships are awarded at time of admissions. There are about half a dozen Zollman's and 30-40 STRIDE's per year...don't know the number of MMD's. (Is that even the right name for the third merit scholarship?) All of those are pretty competitive.</p>
