application killer in my teacher's rec letter

here's the deal, i applied ED to Cornell and my teacher mentioned the name Cornell in her rec letter, which was submitted online through commonapp.

Now i'm applying to three other schools. When i invite the same teacher again, the commonapp automatically downloads what she had write earlier. So now, when an another school reads her rec letter, the letter is addressed to cornell. Am i screwed? What can i do?

ugg, i hate commonapp. It submitted my teacher's rec on its own without my teacher clicking submit.

Weill, if you are applying (active tense) than it’s easy. You can create another VERSION of your common app. Then use that new version as the one to send to these additional colleges. Then your teacher can apply a generic rec to that new version or simply mail customized recs to each.

I doubt colleges will blame you for your teacher’s mistake.

i’m international so my teacher and i don’t really know the convention here.

I already invited her and the status is already downloaded. So i contact the school to get them to ignore the rec letter from the common app.

have you submitted the applications yet? Because if not, it doesn’t send in the recs until you have submitted your portion.
Good luck!

how can my teacher add a generic letter to the new version?

bump help. Does my teacher have to do it by mail now?

No, you can create an alternative application on the Common App. Assuming Cornell got the original, it’s easy to make a different version. Read their instructions. Then, ask your teacher to submit another recommendation w/o the college name and submit that to version 1.

I already created an alternative app on Common App. Once i go to the alternative one’s school form, the teachers are already invited. Once i click the invite this teacher for this school, her thing automatically gets downloaded.
