I submitted the common app. online today. It was due on the 7th and today's the 8th. Is the application considered late? What should I do? call?
Should I even worry?

you obviously don't care too much because you couldn't even make the generous extended deadline, don't worry about it.

Techinically it is late, but I don't think they'll really care . . . has it been downloaded?

does downloaded mean they received it?>

Yeah, I think it means they received it, downloaded it, and printed it out.

I sent the application in at 3:00 in the morning on the 8th. (3 hrs late)My computer was not uploading the essays. Cornell is my 1st choice college.

Well it doesn't help if you tell us :P As long as Cornell knows . . . but it doesn't look too good when you submit your app late

"Cornell is my 1st choice college."

I'm not saying I don't believe you but if it truly is why didn't you start working on the application a few hours earlier (or days, or weeks, or months)? The admissions people probably won't care, but if one of your main things in your essays is how you're obssessed w/ cornell, they might be skeptical.

your first choice college?? you cant be serious i would love to hear your excuse for turning it in 1 week past the original deadline

When we visited COlumbia they basically said, if you don't get the app in on time, and leave time for computer crashes, web servers, etc to go wrong, that it's just too bad. They said you shouldn't wait until the last minute.

Yeah that's very true. I can't understand why applicants wait until the last minute for such an important thing. If cornell was his first choice he should have applied ED haha, but anyway, I think you will be fine, as cornell gets applications a little bit late, or with missing pieces that show up later, all the time. However, I think it's ridiculous that cornell is your number 1 choice and you can't even make the extended deadline. I sent my app in a week before the deadline for ED and then sent out my RD apps as I finished them.

Does Cornell even look at when you submitted it? I think they want the app. as long as it's 1 or 2 days from the deadline.

I haven't gotten the login name to the self service site , yet. What does that mean?

dude..you JUST submitted the application and they are FLOODED with appz because of lazy fcks like you who submit last second so there is no way they can take all the last sec applications and process them and send everyone out an email

"I haven't gotten the login name to the self service site , yet. What does that mean?"

So you submit your app a day late from the EXTENDED deadline, and then you expect cornell to take your app and give you your login THE SAME DAY? Where do you get these ridiculous expectations from... Also, your app usually is not downloaded from common app until the day after the submit, so they probably don't even have your app yet.

Firey pit of rejection...:D

whoever submitted the application on the seventh or later, i assure will not be accepted to cornell...they proabably already printed everything out on the fifth or earlier...

why would cornell want someone who submitted last-minute, last second...

how long does it usually take to receive an e-mail from Cornell? My application was downloaded today.

i haven't got one, submitted 2 weeks ago.

wow ya'll are painfully blunt
