Application Major Dilemna

My problem is that on the application, i put I want to major in Spanish, which is true, but I'm afraid it doesn't show as clearly in my application as business since I just recently decided i wanted to major in Spanish instead of business. Do you think the admission officers will discount my intended major/think i'm lying? =/

The problem is...i wrote all my information for teachers and guidance counselor last year, so I'm guessing their recommendations will talk about my interest in business fields. Also, since I thought I wanted to go into business, I took many business classes and joined FBLA. Only during the summer of my senior year did I start changing my mind...and now since I probably will go to a liberal arts school, I want to major in Spanish (big change haha)

I do have spanish interests shown in my application...i wrote my essay on the language, i have activities like Spanish Honor society, but compared to business, its not as strong. I also took Spanish all four years in high school...

I want to show the colleges where my true interests lie, but do you guys think it would be safer if i were just to put down "economics" as my major? The college only allows for one option for intended major.

any advice would help
thanks

Put down Spanish. College is for expanding horizons. No one is going to look down upon what you perceive is a disjointed trajectory. Not so. The fact is that a huge majority of students flip majors so don't fret.

When I applied, I cited Chemistry (b/c that's what I genuinely believed) despite the fact that I had only gotten Bs in my Honors Chem class during my Jr year (and was enrolled in AP Chem as a senior). I was accepted at two Ivies and three top engineering schools, no rejections. Good luck to you.

thanks
i just hope the admission officers will be nice about it too xD
