Application mistake/question

I submitted Wash U's pre-application data sheet a long time ago and set up an account with them. I recently got an e-mail to set up my WUSTL Key account so I did, and I also submitted my commonapp to Wash U.

According to my key account, Wash U has received my pre-app sheet but no common app. I just submitted it ten minutes ago, so is this why Wash U hasn't received it? Or was I suppose to somehow link my commonapp account to my key account?

I'm worried that I made a mistake somewhere, so if someone can help me out I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Take a deep breath. It will probably change status on the next business day. Don’t worry about it. Congrats on finishing the common app!

You submitted the supplement form–to Wash U.

You submitted the Common Application–to Wash U.

They have both forms, so stop worrying. Things won’t always update immediately, especially when paying application fees.

You submitted it on a saturday.

You really think the office of admissions is open for regular business just to update your file on a saturday?
Let it also be noted that it is Fall Break. Chances are, the guy who does the grunt work like this may just be a student or may not even be in St. Louis right now.

Seriously, chill. If it’s not there by mid-week, call and see. But it’s not an automatic process.

Yeah thanks for the responses. I get that it will take a few days, since these aren’t business days. I was just worried that they wouldn’t be able to link my common app to my WUSTL account, because I didn’t “connect” them in anyway. I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss any steps.

Thanks.

Same name, same social security number, etc. They’ll link up.

These people deal with the admissions process as their full-time job. They work with dozens of nervous college-bound students every day, thousands in a year. As musicalscientist said above, just take a deep breath. Everything will work out.
