So I'm transferring from a CC to SDSU in the fall of 2007, and I just received my admission letter today. So I logged into the schools website to get a list of things I need to do, and I noticed that the school they have me transferring from is San Fransisco State, not from the CC I actually attended. SDSU was not the only school I gained admission to, but it was the only one in which I apparently made a mistake on the application.

Like I said, I only realized the mistake this evening after the office of admissions was closed, and will remain closed until Monday. At this point I'm panicking that my admission may be revoked because of this.

If anyone can shed some light on what happens with mistakes like this, and what outcome I might expect, I would really appreciate it.

I know it seems like a long time, but all you can do is call tomorrow. You will want to talk to your admissions officer or someone on the admissions committe if possible. I except it will be ok - the problem would be more likely to occur if you let it go on.

You are not the only person to make an error on their application!

Best of luck and let us know how it resolves.

The mistake might be theirs, not yours. I assume that you had a transcript and other documents sent from your current college, all of which undoubtedly had the correct college's name on them. I suspect that someone just keyed in the wrong number when your data was entered or filed. You have to straighten this situation out (otherwise you'll be worrying about whether your acceptance is valid), but the outcome should be good.

Thanks for the responses. After a weekend of anxiety, I spoke to the admissions department and found out that my application was correct, and that a mistake was made on the schools part. My admission will not be affected.
