So, I took both the ACT and the SAT, but because my SAT scores are slightly higher, I only sent them out to colleges. But I did write my ACT scores on my commonapp, even though they obviously aren't official, just because I didn't think it would cause any issues. Harvard's portal, though, has a section for my ACT scores, saying that they are "un-official" (obviously)

But the thing is that it says"For tests marked as "un-official", Harvard has not yet received official score reports from the appropriate testing agencies. In order for your application to be considered complete, you must request that your official test scores be submitted to Harvard by the testing agency on your behalf." Does this mean that my application won't be considered complete (and thus not looked at) unless I send in my ACT scores too? This hasn't for any of the other 13 schools I applied to. I mean, I guess I could send them in to, but is it really necessary?

Some colleges require you to send all of your scores from SAT and ACT (I know this is true for Tufts University). To check if Harvard requires all examinations you could use a search engine. There is a lot of info on Harvard on the web. I hope that helps a little.

Since one set of official scores are in, I don’t see there would be any need to not begin the full read of your file. That’s only common sense it seems to me.

I have the same problem and I don’t know what to do. It would only make sense if they look at the SATs and disregard the ACTs, since you have covered the testing requirements. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Harvard only asks for your highest score- be it the ACT or the SAT. They put what you gave them on the portal, just in case some people want to report both(that’s usually a good idea if the conversion is close, since Harvard may use a different scale than the one you found). Call if this really bothers you, but I wouldn’t worry about it :)
