I'm an ED applicant from Thailand. But because of the flooding situation, the SAT Subject test scores were delayed by like a week. I sent them an email and they said they understand and will add this to my file.

But before the scores were even sent, they rejected me saying they have fully consider my application. How can they FULLY consider my whole application when they didn't even have all my scores?

So my counselor sent them an email politely asking for the reason behind the rejection. Its been almost a month and they haven't replied!

They have all my stuff now, why can't they just at least move me to the normal pool? THIS IS NOT FAIR.

If they decided before seeing your official scores, then it goes to reason that the other areas of your application were sufficient for them to arrive at that decision. They didn’t take that action whimsically. Someone obviously felt that even with super SATs, your file was not strong enough to defer to the RD round. It was fully considered.

Sorry for your rejection. Your energies are now best spent on your remaining HS career and getting ready for college. Cornell will not answer any more inquiries, I suspect. Time to move on. Good luck w/your other applications.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the person above. If you were borderline enough to the point where subject test scores could influence their decision then they probably would have deferred you. Best bet would be to move on, as I’m sure you’ll do fine in the rest of the admissions cycle. Good luck!

They don’t respond to inquiries about rejections. You should consider applying as a transfer student if you really want to go. I know a bunch of people who were rejected ED/RD and got in a year or two later.
