Hello all, I applied Early Action to Temple and then my application was placed on hold and was told it would be re-reviewed and hold applications are reviewed on a weekly basis and decisions go out by April 1st LATEST. I spoke to a current Temple student who said the same thing happened to her and she was accepted a few weeks after it was placed on hold. Temple is my #1 school and housing opens this Friday. What are my chances of getting in? At the time I applied i had a 2.97 gpa but brought it up to a 3.08 and have sent my mid-year report. I have a 1620/2400 and 1090/1600 on my SATs. I applied as a Criminal Justice (BA) major to the Liberal Arts college. Thanks in advance for any information

Hey Sariola,
Before I state anything, I hope you get in soon! Your initial GPA and SAT scores are lower than the average of last year’s class. Try getting in touch with an admissions officer, to express that you are still interested in school. Discuss with them that you had a strong first semester that pulled your gpa up and if there was a process to update your transcript.

It is really hard to asses your chances since your stats are not like many posters, but i think you have a shot as long as the rest of your application is strong including essay(s).

Hey thanks for the reply! I have sent my updated grades along with the gpa and they gave word that they have received it. I have exchanged a few emails with an admissions officer aswell. So I’m hoping everything goes well in the upcoming weeks. I had a good essay, and also a lot of extracurriculars

That is great! Hopefully, you get the opportunity to become Temple University! If you do, feel free to inbox me with any questions.
