Going into my senior year I had a 3.2 GPA and an 1870 on my SATs (690 math, 650 reading, 530 writing). I applied a little under a month ago trying for early action. Today my application status was changed to “Hold”. After looking at other posts I’m under the impression I may not get a decision until April 1st. My EC’s are 3 years of lacrosse, going into my 4th, and 2 years in DECA. I had applied as Undecided business but now think I should have just done completely undeclared so I wouldn’t have been in the more competitive pool revolved around the Fox School. Am I overreacting and still have a chance or should I consider the hold as a denial?
i found a hold suprising but Temple is getting more competitive. maybe they were a little concerned becuase wrting score was a good bit behind the other 2 scores? you might be right on business v undeclared. i don;t know. look on opther posts, there are business students on here. they’d be best one to ask that question to. i still can’t believe a kid wiht a 1300+/1600 is a hold. yikes. must be gpa which is certainly respectable. good luck…
Look up the admissions staff member that would read your application. Here is a list: http://admissions.temple.edu/node/221. Email the admissions counselor, introduce yourself, be sure to say how heavily you are interested in Temple and ask about your app. Few kids take the time to stand out individually.
phenomonal advice in post 2. Take it all to heart and do what philaskimom suggested…
and periodic follow up, such as every 4 to 6 weeks via email can only help too.
Im having trouble finding out who to email being from Chester County Pennsylvania. None of the counselors really seem like they work on that region but the first one seems closest. Any thoughts?
@steelers997 Yes, I think the first one listed is your best bet to contact.
yes, start with them. if they are not correct contact, they can let you know he is, use email so you have a paper trail set up.
