So, this afternoon (January 30), I received this email (it was sent earlier today too, so it's not like I just didn't check my email):

Although you did submit the application, the technical problem caused some of the information that you submitted to not be recorded properly on your application. In order for you application to be properly reviewed, we are asking you to resubmit the second part of your application by Wednesday, January 14. Please note that this delay in receiving your application will in no way negatively impact your admission.

You can resubmit your application to the link below.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Please contact the admissions office at (202) 687-3600 if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

The Georgetown Admissions Staff

Apparently my application didn't go through "last evening" (29th), and I need to resubmit my app by January 14?!!!! Wut? I've emailed the admissions office and asked for clarification on this, and I'm going to resubmit the application as soon as possible, if they'll still take it.

Anybody else have a problem with this, or advice for the situation?

Oh, and I received some official confirmation email when I did submit my application, and it sounded like they had all my materials and everything.

They sent me two e-mails (both on January 30th). The one you have copy/pasted is one of them... but here is the other:

We are writing to inform you that a technical problem with our application server caused the second part of your Georgetown Application to be submitted without all the necessary information.

In order for you application to be properly reviewed, we are asking you to resubmit the second part of your application by Tuesday, February 3. Since this is a problem with our application, please note that this delay in receiving your application will in no way negatively impact your admission.

You can resubmit your application to the link below. In the Georgetown ID field, type “Resent” instead of your GU ID Number.

Did anyone call the office to confirm that they received your application?
I just began thinking about my app at Georgetown and I'm not too convinced that they received it the 2nd time..

I didn't ever call, but I believe that I received an email confirming it, so it seems to be all right. I interviewed already (but that was after the first time I "submitted it" soooo who know) as well, so I'm thinking they have my app.

I had the confirmation when I tried the first time.. and it didnt go through.
And I got a confirmation the 2nd time.. but i dont know if it went through.
I asked my counselor to call for me, but I don't know if she did it.

^ :[ Hopefully they won't hold it against you - if they'd used the commonapp this would've never happened! Lol, so it's not exactly our fault :]
Maybe you should call/email Georgetown admissions and see what's up, like, make sure that not getting interviewed isn't going to hurt your application.

The interview assignment process starts after you submit Part I, so having your Part II delayed would not affect your interview status in any way. It's also true that some people end up not getting interviews (particularly those living abroad, but some in the U.S. as well). If that's the case, then it can certainly be a bit disappointing, but it won't negatively impact your application.
