Application goes live on September 1st, and priority deadline is November 30th. It is to my belief that any student applying before November 30th will receive the same priority, no matter if you apply on September 1st or mid-November. Is this correct, or does it make a difference if you apply earlier?

PSU operates on a rolling admissions schedule. The first rounds of acceptances typically start rolling out around mid October and continue from there. Priority basically means “If you want to go to University Park apply by November 30” - Yes people get in after that date but its later and harder. Apply the earliest you can and dont wait for it just because

Understood. Now my question is if I apply in late October, will I still have the same priority as someone applying on September 1st? Bascially, does everyone applying before Nov. 30th receive the same priority deadline priority, if you will, or does someone applying on September 1st receive more priority and leniency than someone applying in late October?

I mean there isn’t really “priority” in the sense you’re thinking. The earlier you apply the earlier they see the application, and the more likely they are to want to offer you a spot because they have a lot more spaces available as opposed to nearing the end of the cycle where they become more selective of who they offer the final spots of the class to.

You’ll be fine applying in October if you have competitive stats.

I would like to apply on September 1st, but I want to retake my SATs one more time before applying. My current SAT score is 1760, and I want to improve that before applying. Would it be possible for me to apply on September 1st online through their site and then just send my most recent SAT scores in late October when they are available, or will they only look at my SAT scores at the time when I applied, which would mean having to use my 1760 as my SAT score.

We applied late October and got accepted. I don’t think applying by Sept. 1st is going to “up” your chances. Wait until SAT scores come in.

What was your stats? If you don’t mind me asking that is.

PSU is one of only a hand full of state schools which gives no preference to geographic location in admissions, so they say

Definitely wait for those scores. I applied on November 30 and was accepted within two weeks. As long as you apply by November 30, you will receive priority application status
