My app. says that I have to specify my country of citizenship, even though that is right underneath the box where I just said that I was an American citizen. To make it worse, USA is not an option in the pull down box! What do they want from me?

I am having the exact same problem. I have no idea what to do.

Same problem. I also can't submit my essay because it says it has to be less than 1900 characters is wrong. An admissions officer told me 3800.

Yep I am having that problem as well Bryan. The GaTech application is by far the worst application I have ever filled out, and it is really ****ing me off.

I know, it accepted my longer essays before. This is incredibly frustrating.

what did you guys put for the outside research part?

From the Message Board for applicants at the GT site:
"We know there is a problem with the essay length. We are working to fix it, and will let you know when the problem is resolved. Thank you for your patience."

Further Update:

I just spoke to the admissions office and they said they should have the problem corrected with both the essay length and the citizenship glitch by 5:00 this afternoon. I asked what would happen if the problem was not corrected. Her answer was that they don't even consider that an option.

I love when my child waits until the last minute, it makes everything so much more exciting!!

"Relax, mom, What could possibly go wrong?"
Maybe they'll listen to us next time, almagetty... Oh never mind... What was I thinking? Guess I'll just have to learn to enjoy the "excitement."

Exactly imdamom! ;-)

Hopefully, by the time they get home from school today, all the kinks will have been worked out of GA Tech's system. Then, maybe, DD will be able to submit her application quickly before she goes off to her game tonight. All with about 48 hours to spare!

Yeah so its past 5:00 pm... and still the errors persist.

i had the same problem with the citizenship thing. i was really confused! however, i checked yesterday and it was fixed. try it again!

Its better now.
