I’m sure this has been posted, but I can’t find the complete information. What is the actual process?

You apply online.
Then they need to send you a cwid # right, how long does that take? Is it email or by mail? (we are moving in the next couple of weeks)
You can’t fill out the scholarship application without the cwid # right?
When do you fill out the honors college application? There is an short essay for that, right?

Anything else I’m forgetting apart from scores and transcripts?
Tx

The honors college application has one short essay. If you are going to apply for the University Fellows or computer-based honors programs, there are additional essays. Make sure you have everything in by December 1 for scholarships.

The CWID info and log-on info comes a couple of days after you apply. It will come in an email.

The honors essay is NO big deal at all. Just a few sentences to introduce yourself. However, if you’re applying for CBH or Fellows, those essays are more important.

You can’t apply for honors until after you’re accepted. However, if you apply now, you’ll get accepted very soon as long as transcripts get sent quickly, too.

I also applied online on July 1 and have received virtually no communications from the college - email or snail mail. The haven’t even acknowledged receipt of my application, although it does show as processed on myBama.

Call admissions on Monday. You should have rec’d an email by now. It usually only takes a couple of days. Also, contact your admissions rep from your area/state.

What state are you from?

Did you use your own email address or your parents on your app?

My son completed the app July 3 and the website shows everything has been processed. But no communication from the school. I guess we have to wait to hear back from the school before we can apply for honors or other scholarships. Ugh.

Same here. My D applied July 2nd. No communication from the school. We set up the myBama account and that email had some additional email like receipt of her test scores but nothing else.

When my son applied in October 2008, he never heard from Alabama until he got a letter of acceptance. I will add that he applied on a Sunday afternoon. He knew within a week that he had been accepted. That said, admissions got the day off for the holiday, and I’m sure that it does not decide acceptances on the weekends. So give 'em a little time.

It would appear that there is a problem with UA’s auto-response system. As reported here, applicants last year received an email confirmation with instructions for setting up myBama account shortly after the application was submitted. This year’s applicants have received nothing. Seems like a system gliche somewhere.

Has anyone heard anything? I would but S only submitted Saturday. Hopefully he will receive cwid soon so he can sign up for my bama, and thecan check for receipt of scores and transcripts; as well as apply for scholarship. He did receive a confirmation on receipt of payment of $40 for application. It looks like you’ve all received your cwid, but the scholarship application isn’t working?

We did not receive the cwid yet either. My son signed in as a guest as was able to check and Bama has received application fee, tests scores and transcripts. We have not gotten any feedback from the school. Everything was submitted on July 5.

*
I applied July 3rd and have heard/received nothing.
My myBama account *

How are people able to set up mybama accts without receiving anything from the school?

If you received something that allowed you to set up a mybama acct, then that is really all you’ll get (for now) until you’re accepted… which will be rather soon…like within a month.

Anyway…contact your state’s rep and have him/her check to see what’s going on.

I imagine that many employees use this month to go on vacation, so be patient.

If you don’t know how to find your state’s rep, click here…

My son just sent in his application. This was his first college ap. We only received a confirmation of the payment for the application. It is nice to have at least one ap out of the way.

How will we be notified if admitted? Email or snail mail? Is there a way to tell through myBama? A secret code such as new links showing up on myBama?

My son received an admissions package in the mail when he learned of his acceptance. Inside were details about housing, scholarship information, etc. He also got his CWID shortly after acceptance.
