Application Processing...or lack thereof

Hey guys,

I applied to McGill's Political Science Masters program about a month and a half ago. I have sent in all of my letters of recommendation, my essay, my transcripts, etc. On Minerva it shows that none of these aforementioned documents have been processed/received. I emailed the graduate department as well as trying to call them several times (nobody answers). I knew that non-academic McGill employees had been on strike since September, and received and email back from the graduate director saying the same. My documents are very likely to have been received, but just not marked on Minerva yet.

This stresses me out because I have no way of knowing exactly what they have received and whether or not they will have all of my required documentation by the January 15th deadline. Does anyone that attends McGill know more about the strike developments and any possible future reconciliation talks between McGill and MUNACA? This also worries me that the timeline for when we find out whether we are accepted or not will be pushed back beyond March.

Thanks,

I’m in the same boat. I got a little peeved at how it took over a month to respond to my e-mails (I didn’t know about the strikes), and after three weeks of no feedback after sending in my transcript I got suspicious. With the strike going on, I’ve been told that I have to wait 6 weeks before I know how my documents are going. My transcript was sent four weeks ago…I need to wait 2 more weeks to see if it even made it. Not to mention other documents collecting dust. I think it’s ridiculous, but I hope I’m not being ignorant to anything. I don’t know exactly what the strike is over. But the most useful piece of info they gave me was “there will be a 6 week delay (most likely of sending documents, etc).”

If it carries on through January, through the deadline… it would make sense there would be a 6-week delay to the deadline since they’re not keeping track of our documents on time. Of course, they may date the documents and… I’m just rambling; I don’t know what to expect. But that’s my two cents.
