Hi,
question from my cousin,
I was unable to answer her-
I am sure you guys can help her-

She is an above average student with a 3.2 weighed GPA with a 1710
SAT and her application status page has indicated the same, we are
still looking thing for over seven weeks.
QUESTION -

Has anyone been flat-out rejected yet ?
Has anyone been told that they need your senior grades to make a determination ?
Has anyone been asked to re-take the SAT / ACT again to increase score yet ?
Has anyone been deferred yet ?

I was accepted for Fall 2012.
GPA = 4.0
SAT = 1100/1640 (my scores are higher now though… thats what i got accepted with)
ACT = 25
Alot of ECs, community service, National Honor Society, #55 out of 777 in my class, Consistent Honor Roll, etc

My best friend was deferred for ACT/SAT scores for the Fall 2012 semester.
She has an 850/1250 SAT, 19 ACT but a 4.0 GPA National Honor Society, ECs. Highest Honors, etc

I was deferred for summer term pending my semester grades.
3.4 and 24 act (which is about the same as her SAT score)
I’m also retaking the ACT in December

I received all A’s on my first marking period report card and am doing well now, so hopefully I will gain acceptance. I also had a really good essay and tons of ECs + community service and after school job

Others were flat out denied with a 3.8 gpa and 23 act but there were many students with the same stats as me and turns out most are deferred
Someone also got denied with a 28 act so at this point, it seems pretty unpredictable for any stats but I wish her the best of luck and keep us posted! :)

My brother was rejected with a 3.8 GPA, and a 23 ACT. However, we can better determine her chances if we know the term she has applied for: Summer or fall? My brother was rejected for fall with those stats, but has reallied for summer. Also, AS is right. I know an individual with a 28 ACT, with about a 3.2 GPA, that was rejected from summer. Many kids have been defered, and the rejections being made are a bit surprising. I know of another individual at my school rejected with a 26 ACT, and a 3.7 GPA who was rejected for fall. It seems that many people have not been given the, ‘We can not offer you admissions for fall, but rather summer’ message. It seems as though they don’t even consider it, as they’ve stated.

My son was accepted for fall with a 3.7 weighted GPA, a 24 on his ACT, no volunteer hours and two years of high school swim team and competitive swim club.

My d applied September 8th and had the required documents in by the end of September. Her status page has remained unchanged since September. She sent an email and went to the admissions office last week. They reviewed her file and told her everything was complete but that her application has not been reviewed by the admissions committee as of yet. She applied for a BFA program and had her interview/audition a little more than a week ago so hopefully we will hear back soon. They did suggest that she complete a “reactivation” form requesting admission for the summer term. Below are her stats:
