<p>In one of my applications it asks where else I am applying. What is the purpose of this question? This school (Rensselaer) happens to be my safety. Would it hurt me if I put what colleges I'm actually applying to because they would know that they are my safety? Should I leave it blank? What should I do!?!?</p>
<p>You should only leave it blank if the question is optional. If not, then give a sampling of the other schools to which you're applying (preferably the other safeties and matches and maybe one reach).</p>
<p>Put down 2-3 of the schools you are applying..</p>
