To all the CCer's out there,

Do you think it would be beneficial to elaborate on my EC's in the extra 500 word supplemental space on the UM essay? I feel like the application doesn't really describe my EC's sufficiently and I was thinking of including a description of my EC's in the supplemental space. Do you think this will help me or will it work against me?

Well if your EC's say you were Editor of the school newspaper and you feel that it doesn't adequately describe all the blood, sweat and tears you put into each publication, I'd say no.

If, on the other hand, you were president and founder of a club called Operation X, and the X stands for flying to Africa on a monthly basis to teach underpriviledged kids how to read, sure, you might want to elaborate.

Use your judgement. It's not like it can actually hurt you, but if it's not necessary, then the admissions officer that reads through your application will probably be happy not to have to look at a 500 word essay on how you shelved books at the local library for community service.

do you even have to write anything

I can't agree more with Ms. Alias person.

I think that it is much better if you include that info in the provided box, because unless its really awesome they probably don't care.

And Bristow, do you watch lost, its freakin awesome, and Alias is crap now.

HAha alias did kind of lose its spark, and the series finale was kind of like... WHAT?! Lost is awesome, but I haven't really been keeping up with it anymore... has it premiered yet? Lol, I love the Dharma Initiative connection to U of M.
