Application Question

Hi everyone,

For the essay, the application says, "Using one of the quotes below (or your own favorite quotation) as a jumping off point, tell us about an event or experience that helped you define one of your values." I wrote an essay using one of my own favorite quotes. However, on the princeton online application, there is no place that I can place a checkmark next to my own quote. Does anyone know what I should do?

Thanks!

i would post the quote you are using before your essay and label it.

would the quote count into the word limit? my quote is a bit long...

that would be an exception, adcom is resonable (most of the time anyway) ....are you going to integrate it into your essay though, or use parts of it directly, or will it be just as a starting pt. for inspiration?

i want to start with it, and just recycle a short essay i wrote for another college that I like. So, it'll be in the style of the other examples quotes: quote at top, person who said it, then essay somehow related to the quote.

If you are really worried, and would like to keep the original formatting, simply send a paper hardcopy to the admissions office seperately.

^^I wouldn't do that if I were you. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it too much period. Unless there's some really special formatting you did (in which case you should have done it on paper anyway...), don't send them an extra copy. Send them enough to know you, but little enough not to bog them down with paper.
