application question

i am going to be applying this fall and i was wondering if when we apply if we apply to a specific major? also, if we do, are there some majors that are known to be particuarly competitive?

no, everyone is admitted into the general college (GC) regardless of their intended major. they ask you to list your intended major so that they can pair you up with a certain advisor, but yoru intended major does not affect your acceptance decision.

you apply to a specific school during the spring of sophomore year (or fall of junior year, which i think is okay too since my friend is doing that). the business school, kenan-flagler, i heard is fairly difficult to get into, along with the pharmacy program.

thanks for replying, i appreciate it!

Yeah, and don't worry about which major you put down. I really don't think it matters except for if they invite you to visit, then sometimes they group you into particular categories. I went to Carolina 101 or something like that last year where they put me in a certain group because I put down political science. It was cool.
