Application question

I want to submit my application as soon as possible in May when it becomes available for the 2009 class, I have already taken the MCAT and got a 31. However my application is not that strong so I feel like I should retake the MCATs for a better score. I am signed up for the June exam and the scores won't come out until July. Would a stronger but later application be better or worse than an earlier but weaker application?

Also, if I submit my application in June and resubmit the scores in July would it just update itself or would it not make a difference?

1.) You can't submit in May, but AEAP (early) is a good idea.
2.) If you can actually get a better score (by, say, three points), then the extra month is worth it.

From experience: it may be good to apply early BUT it is overrated IMO. As long as you complete secs by Oct you should be fine. (unless you just want to get the early interviews).

btw, you joined in 04 and just had your first post? wat?

04 was when I was in high school I'm pretty sure I made a few posts back then...weird that it says 1 post

If you're a weaker candidate (31/3.6), then applying early is a big plus.

thank you very much for the help, I will probably submit most of my app and see if there is dramatic improvement on practice tests to warrant the re-test

Realize how difficult it is to score higher on a retake...
Here are links to the data:

You can go through and look at how likely it is for you to improve, stay the same or get worse for each section. In addition to practice exams I'd be sure to consider this data. As one might expect, the higher your initial score in each section, the more likely it is that retaking will result in a lower score.
