Application Question

I plan on applying for Texas A&M as soon as possible. I'll be graduating from high school in 2012. I heard the earliest you can apply is August 1st (that's when the essay prompts are released for Texas App). When I apply with my essays, letters of rec, and transcript from fresh-junior year how long will it take to hear back my results? Also, will they ask for a midterm transcript around February or so to see my grades again? I'm pretty sure I'm in the top 4-6% of my class AT LEAST, but for some strange reason if my rank were to drop a lot lower ( out of the top 8% ) would I get unaccepted?

Once you’re accepted I don’t think you’d lose your acceptance unless you did something drastic, such as not going to school anymore or barely squeaking by in your classes just enough to graduate. If you’re an auto admit you’ll hear back pretty quickly, if you aren’t one, like myself, you may hear back anytime but I heard back in January.

Bump?..

they will want to see your final high school transcript, to be sure you have completed your requirements. If you have automatic admission you will not lose it if you go below top 10% after being admitted.
You will have automatic admission from your Jr yr transcript if you apply August 1st and if you stay in the top 10% of your class. You can also have automatic admission with the top 25% of your class and a 1300 (math and reading) SAT or 30 ACT.
