Application questions

Hello,

Recently I began filling out the application as a prospective 2015 freshman.

The application is pretty straightforward, however I have a few concerns.

I have no idea what my Michigan Unique Identification Code is... Does anyone know how to find it? I'm somewhat certain my counselor at school will know, so I'm not too worried.

Any suggestions on how to find out what day I started high school, since the enrollment period requires an exact day range?

I read that my application serves as the application for all of the scholarships and the Honors College? I assume this is where I should write my heart out then?

It seems that there is unlimited room to describe all of my activities and ec's. I have a lot of them that are very important.. Should I elaborate greatly about each?

Employment and Activities - the last section - is vague to me. Is this section for only people that have taken time off after high school?

Here is what the text says, " If more than one semester has elapsed between your last semester of enrollment in high school/college and your anticipated start date at MSU, please list the activities (e.g. employment, military service, travel) that you participated in during this time. List the most recent activity first. To indicate that you are currently employed by someone, please enter a Start Date and leave the End Date blank."

Thanks for the help!

1) Google or your counselor? I’m sure it’s readily available online.
2) I’d look back at old academic counselors. If your school website has a calendar, you can just click back to 2011, or whenever you started. Or if you know you started on, say, the last Monday in August, just go look at any calendar.
3) Yes, just make your application as strong as it can possibly be.
4) Elaborate as much as you see necessary. You don’t want to write essays, but you want to give them an idea of what you did/important accomplishments.
5) According to the text you provided, you are only to fill out that section if you took more than one semester off between high school and college. If you aren’t taking any time off, don’t fill that out.

When you start an app, MSU admissions e-mails you your ID code so you can log back in to finish the app. Check your e-mail.
