Common App doesn’t have the special Harvard Supplement to School Report, but the Harvard Website does. My counselor isn’t going to be happy about filling in the Harvard supplement to the School Report, since she’s busy and all, so I don’t think I’m going to ask her to. Is this allright? I mean someone who applies common app only isn’t going to even know that he needs the extra supplement, so am I going to get auto disqualified or something?

the Harvard Supplement basically involves checking in a few boxes and filling out a few circles.

Since Harvard asks for it - you ought to provide it.

IMO, they will probably contact you for the extra information when they don't find it after reviewing your file.

whoaaa. never realized this! are you sure it's a supplement to the SSR and to be filled out by the counselor?

yes
I know, I didn't know about it till a week before the EA deadline date.
It doesn't say the word "optional" on it - its necessary. But it would take <2 minutes to fill out.

But I think it is quite pretentious to demand a redundant supplement to the SSR, even if it is Harvard.

I don't think so....since My counselor didn't do anything extra and I still did fine?

how to attend Harvard ?

Hello I'mm laura I'm French and I dream to attend Harvard yard since I saw this cllege when I was 11. I live in france and switzerland with my family but half-my familly lives in Boston Massachussets and every genetion from this family goes to Harvard.I know it looks like a clich

I definitely did not fill in any supplement to the school report. What??

Well...guess it was optional then. My counselor still filled it out though.

I didn't fill it out, but my Harvard status page says all required components have been received. My counselor is very savvy -- told me about all school report supplements at my different colleges -- Harvard was not one of them

Are you sure it's not mandatory? Because I remember getting confused with it back in December, so I called Harvard admissions, and they've specifically told me that the school report is 4 sides (2 sides for Common App, 2 sides for the Harvard school report supplement), and the supplement HAS to be sent in. In fact, if you got the booklet + forms from Harvard, it specifically tells you that the school report is 4 pages.

yeah, what lubinlie said
even those mailing labels say School Report Part 1 and 2

There's definitely a Harvard Supplement to the School Report. If you haven't sent it yet, I'd say that you send it with your Mid Year Report. I'd suggest you call and verify this at any rate.

I've seen lotsa spectacular EC records in these forums, can I just ask... where dya guyz list your achievements under? Do you write it under Additional Info in the Commonapps or where?

ok guys, then what about the harvard mid-year report? There's a Harvard mid-year report form, and also a common app mid-year report form. does it matter which one of those you use?.....because i used the common app form....

I was just freaking out about this, as well.

Why does Harvard have its own mid-year report form too?
Gee, w/out CC, I wouldn't have known about it

I'll just wait until they bug me abt missing stuff :)

I think the Common App's Midyear Report and Harvard's Midyear Report are pretty much the same, doesn't matter which one you send. (There are only so many way you can get an applicant to list grades :D )

I think this entire problem's originating because Harvard has its own versions of the Common App forms on its website with the Harvard seal on them; I honestly don't think it makes a difference which of the two you use unless (like the secondary school report), the Harvard supplement asks for something not provided in the Common App.

I didnt send an extra SSR and I was admitted. So, it really doesnt matter.

Could someone link me to the place where I can download the Harvard supplement to the school report. I never saw this anywhere.

Besides, my application status says that they have recieved all necessary materials. confused
