Lets say hypothetically, that I get accepted ED to Penn. As of now I am taking all AP classes and am doing well in all of them except AP Physics. Right now in AP physics I have a low B, which is dangerously close to dropping to a C+ if the semester final doesn’t go well. If I get a C+, will Penn consider rescinding my acceptance???

u could get prolly one or two cs and then they ask for explanation... as long as you dont start to fall in most of ur classes you should be ok

I really doubt it. I've heard that colleges are more lenient with people accepted ED because they have to retract all of their other applications. So if they rescinded your admission you couldn't go anywhere next year. I wouldn't worry about anything but Ds and Fs.

i wish i could give up after getting in ED but my dad expects me to be giving a speech on graduation so i gotta keep that rank.
damn i hate expectations. lol

and yea, dont wry unless ur actually failing

i mean... if ur smart enough to do well enough to get into penn youd almost have to try to get a D or an F... and try to get more than one or two Cs... just on natural smarts i bet you could keep a 3.0

i went to penn's orientation in april, and they told the accepted kids that one or two Cs are ok, just don't get Ds or Fs.

^^ btw post 600^^

hah, nice crouton, exactly what they said

what about dropping an AP class to Honors?

i feel the op...ap physics is hurting me too with a low B...

me too! damn i hate physics

i would love to take ap physics...my school doesn't offer it. :(

just drop to honors after penn accept you...i doubt they will compare your final transcript to you initial one.

I actually have a big test in AP physics tomorrow, but I'm not studying....I'm on this damn forum.

ive already taken honors physics....it was kind of a breeze but now physics is so in-depth...im experiencing difficulty for the first time in a science class...it scares me to think about college science (how much do we have to take in college?)

dude thats not true at all...

i believe that someone already posted about this, but UPenn will get ****ed at you if you drop to an honors. someone attested to this.

so just stick it out.

really? i dont think if they will be mad if you make one class an honors when you have atleast 2 other ap's.....maybe if you changed all ur ap's to honors but one class.....doesnt make sense that they would get that mad.

but a big part of whether they accept you is your senior classload they want to see people who are pushing it because they want to go to penn...a senior schedule wouldnt mean anything then if people jsut dropped down after applying...

well im in IB so all my classes are disgustingly hard.
wat if i switched from AP physics to AP stats?

paro, why are you taking AP when you are in IB? Wouldn't that be IB Physics?

this is gonna sound so dorky but... ive taken all the classes i can, both AP and IB, that fit in my schedule at my school.
i tested out of math so my gc said i should just pick up ap physics snr yr instead of anything honors (which wud mess up my gpa). i also have ap art, which i LOVE.
so yea. my only options for my last period were phys and stats. id nvr taken phys before so i thot id try it. but it super sucks. lol
