<p>Do colleges review applications in the order they are submitted? The deadline for NYU is January 1 at midnight, so should I send in my application or try to spend another day reviewing and revising my app?</p>

<p>If you are content with your application, it would be best to submit it somewhat in advance of the deadline. Not because it will be reviewed any faster (at this point, we are just talking about a day early), but because systems can get jammed at the last minute, causing you undue anxiety.</p>

<p>They review them in the order they are completed – not when they are submitted. They are complete when all required documents (HS reports/transcripts, LORs, scores, etc.) are filed. And this is mainly outside of your control.</p>
