Application Statis for Transfers

okay never mind, I looked it up on the O-week website and apparently all new students are required to take them..

I'm sooooo excited! :P

You won't have control over which college you may be placed into if you put yourself on the housing wait list, but, yes, you may end up in a different college than the one to which you were originally assigned. My friend who transferred from WashU last year was originally placed into Wiess (which didn't have any empty beds for guys), but Will Rice traded a girl transfer for him, and they both got beds.

RedHerring is correct in saying that freshmen are guaranteed housing, and transfers are given any remaining beds.

NYFSkins, I'm just curious, what does RRF stand for? :P

You'll find out during O-Week :)

Oh I asked a friend at Rice... it stands for "Rah Rah F***".....-_-

I thought you weren't allowed to teach that one during O-week.

Dorian_Mode, are you at Martel right now? I heard it's the nicest college! Lucky you! I'm jealous..

I'm not physically at Martel right now, but yes, it's my college. Don't be jealous, though; you'll love it here no matter what college you're part of.

Dorian_Mode, my parents want to help me move in and visit Rice (they've never visited Rice), can parents participate in any of the O-week activities on the first O-week day?
thanks!

After move-in, parents and students can eat lunch together with the O-Week advisors and coordinators. After that, there are a couple of information-type things set up for parents, but incoming students will be participating in separate activities. So yeah, your parents can help with move-in (most do, I think) and there are at least a few things for them to do.

Dorian, the ending of the cheer is the same.

They can help you move in and join you for lunch with the college masters and then there are some separate activities for the parents. (And then they leave.)

Dorian and I posted at the same time -- but you see we both pretty much said the same thing.

Ah, I see. I'm sure I'll find out all about it. I'm excited.

I set up my email account today w/ my student ID that was on the admissions letter. So YEAH! I can join the Rice network on FB! :P

Hey outofhere!

How were you able to do that? Did you pay your deposit yet? if not,, could you teach me how I can get a Rice email? Thanks!!

Final exams this week....booo... I want to get out of here so badly!

Has anyone gotten anything (snail mails, e-mails..) from Rice since 4/25? I only got my acceptance letter in the mail, and paid my deposit, but I haven't received ANYTHING from Rice yet other than that... no receipt, no nothing?

Outofhere--we've had no correspondence from Rice either. Even the snail mail acceptance letter still hasn't caught up with my D who has been home from her former university since the 3rd.

We know Rice received the deposit because the admission status changed to "Deposit Received".

So no big fat packets of info have come your way either?

I just received the General Announcements 2007-8 book today. Anyone else get it?
