I realize this is probably a stupid question, but hey, if you can’t look like an idiot on the Internet, where can you?

So my guidance counselor called me in today to tell me that Brown had called her saying that they needed a copy of my report card. My school has a weird system for mid-year reports, where they basically only include your updated GPA and class rank, and I’m guessing that this didn’t satisfy Brown’s requirements for mid-year grades, and this is what caused the mix up.

(As an aside, isn’t it a bit late to be informing my counselor of this?)

So later, to see if I could have avoided this by checking my application status, I logged onto the Brown application portal, and I get to the page after you’ve clicked on your admission term where it lists basic information like your name, address, email, etc. and I simply can’t find how to navigate past this page to see my actual application status. Like, I can view my requirements for financial aid, but I always run in to a dead end on this page after clicking “Review your application”. Can anyone help me out? Because this is kind of last minute panic.

At the top of the page there are 3 tabs- personal info, student, and financial aid. Make sure the student tab is selected. After you have clicked on review application, it should say processed applications and underneath it should list your application- “Fall 2012”- click on that. That should take you to your actual application. I hope that helps.

Mhm, yeah, it’s just that when I get to the Application Summary page, I have the option to change information on my name, address, high school information, and academic programs of interest, but I can’t see anywhere where it lists whether I’m missing test scores, recommendations, grades, etc.

I’m positive I’m missing something embarrassingly obvious, because I’ve gotten to the page that lists that stuff before, but I just don’t see what I’m supposed to be seeing. Thank you for the help though!

Okay, I just logged in so I could help you find the right page. The thing is, you were on the right page, but the info of what you’ve turned in (letters of rec., tests, etc.) is no longer there. UPenn’s portal did the same thing after awhile, though they left a pretty notice so people like you don’t have to panic when they can’t find anything. :)

Oh, okay! I feel slightly reassured that I’m not going crazy. If something wasn’t in, do you think they’d leave that up, or would it just be pointless at this stage? Because I guess my mid-year report was received, but my school’s version of a mid-year report didn’t provide enough information. Oh well, I guess at this point, it’s a waste of energy to worry about it. Thank you, though.

My counselor was also contacted for my mid year report…
