Hey guys, i just checked the myHamilton account that the admissions office sent me and it says my application is complete. However, it says my mid-year grades were not sent and i know that my guidance counselor has yet to send them....

should i be worried that this is a detriment to my application or is it more of an optional application piece?

Well, your guidance counselor should send the mid-year when it becomes available. But, they don't expect it now. Mine hasn't even com out yet, so just make sure your counselor sends it and don't sweat it. But no, not optional.

Just have your GC send it. Our's aren't even out yet. We're not even done with exams.. So our's don't come out until February 3.

PS @ Modadunn, my MyHamilton stuff was sent through email about a week after my application was sent in. I think they actually sent snail mail too, though. I have no idea why..

It's just that confirmation from Hamilton has yet to arrive either snail mail or email. So, if there are emails flying around he should have perhaps gotten that by now (sent in application Dec 29 via online common application.)

I'd call to make sure it got there.. Again, the notification is supposed to come by snail mail, but that's a ridiculously long time. Did your son get the notification about how it was taking a long time to get the passwords out? It was sent out with the title, "Application Update from Hamilton College" and was a confirmation from Monica Inzer. It said it would take up to two weeks for official notification to come.
I applied EDII and I thought RTHowe did too, but he might not have which might be the distinction. Also, I'm a minority and I think they have a different admissions committee for minorities. At least, there's a different interviewing committee for us.
I had talked an admissions officer previously, too. Possibly another distinction? If your son calls, they'll get it sorted out, though. The staff is always glad to help, from my experiences.

noo i have a second interview at the campus on the 26th and thats the day im handing in my EDII paper!!!

But...they know im applying EDII and already marked it down i think, i just need to give them all of my signatures

And i agree, everyone with whom i spoke over the phone was MORE than friendly and helpful....i was a little bummed because the original date i wanted to go for the interview was filled but they were very patient and after 3 phone calls i made my appointment lol
