"Your application was completed on February 14, 2005." Does that mean they have already reviewed it, or just gotten around to putting the information into their database? Also, will the decisions be available online, or is it going to be like "Thank you for checking, please wait for regular mail."

The decisions are supposed to, in my understanding, be available online once they are ready to send out the actual letters (though they should show up online a few days before you get it in the mail). I'm guessing the Feb, 14th thing was the date that they got everything into the computer, but I don't know for sure.

Decisions will be available online. They'll be on the first page you see when you log in. :)

oh man.. I think I'm too scared to check my acceptance decision online. One month too go.....

iheartny27 - I'm starting to feel the same way you are about the online decisions (though I think it'll be too much of a temptation for me to peek online instead of wait a few more days for it in the mail). That's a hard blow just logging in, and poof, there's your decision. I'm REALLY nervous. In my case, I can see them just as easily rejecting me as accepting me so no matter what the decision is, it'll be a surprise (whether or not it'll be a happy surprise, I don't know).

exactly- it's so up in the air for me too. If I get rejected, I don't want to have to think about it for an extra week, just to get the dreaded thin envelope in the mail reminding me yet again that I'm a loser.... and on the other hand, there's nothing like opening your mailbox and seeing that fat envelope in the mail. I'm going to try really hard to wait for the mail, but as soon as the decisions are up I'm sure this board will be loaded with all the results and I'll be tempted to looks myself....

It will hurt if you get rejected (hopefully will not happen though), but that does not mean you're a loser if you do get rejected. All it means is that they don't believe that that particular school is a good fit for you (meaning you'll be ten times happier at the other schools that did accept you and you'll be even more loyal to your final choice school). I know that's a lot easier said than lived by so I'm going to try to be easy on the subject (We'll see how well I personally live by my own words in about a month, maybe less - That'll be interesting in itself. I might be a hypocrite for all I know. Oh, please don't let that be true!!!).

For me, the mailed decision will probably only take two days or so to get here (I only live a few hours away from Chicago), but after waiting for literally months in limbo, I'm ready to know what my fate is as soon as possible for my own sake and for the sake of Michigan so that I can finally give them a hands down answer as to what I'm doing.

I planned to wait for the envelope in the mail (I got in ED), but when I heard that the decisions had been posted I felt sick to my stomach, extremely lightheaded, etc. I knew I would be an absolute wreck if I didn't look. :) Plus, I live far enough away that it took about a week for the envelope to get here.

I'm so excited for all of you!!!

Ditto Crypticism. I logged onto CC late on a Friday night and couldn't believe that everyone was talking about the decisions being up (days before expected)-and I also felt instantaneously sick. I logged onto Applicant Status and my hands were shaking. I thought I'd be directed somewhere else to find out the decison, or for them to say something like..."If you'd like to see your decison online click on yada yada"-but there it was...boom. I was in so much shock it didn't even register..I had to read it like 10 times to make sure I wasn't crazy.

Anyway-I am also excited for all of you and wish you good luck.

related question for rd kids- i checked online and it said the decisions would be up "mid march" now to me mid march is like march 15! But I think thats wayy to early. does anyone know the actual day they come out?

it says late march to me, where does it say mid march?

mmmm...where do you check your app status online? :P

ok nevermind i found it

primab, cryptiscism, you guys were braver than me haha.. i didnt check. i felt really neverous when i got the email on friday for ED decsion... i didn't check the whole weekend by avoiding the computer... then on monday i came home from school and i got the envelope =D... then i read the admission letter about 100 times to make sure i wasnt dreaming. yea, good luck to people in the RD round.

I don't see anything that says mid March. All I see is late March. That'll be scarey if it turns out to be that way because mid March starts later next week.

Last year, I think they posted the decisions online on March 26th(?). That would mean late March. I do remember, however, that a few internationals got their decisions FedExed to them sometime in mid-March.

ohhh man. this is all coming up wayyy too fast!!! I got into NYU, so if I don't get into Northwestern I won't feel as bad. Those are the only 2 schools I've ever wanted to go to, so it'll still be disappointing if it turns out I don't have what it takes to get into NU

yeah. for ED it was seriously like BAM (not for NU)
and over really quickly. sigh

how many more i'll have to go through RD...

holy crap this post is making me sooo nervous i am definitely not checking myself one of my friends is checking for me!

Let's see what happens. I'm just checking once every evening because that's when it will be up probably.
