Hey guys, I’m an electrical engineering major applying to CPP as a transfer from Glendale Community College. My status has said “Referred to Impacted Plan” for over two months now, is this not good? What are my chances of getting in? Thanks!

Are there any steps I should take to get this resolved?

I (and quite a few others) are in the same boat. Officially, Cal poly says they are still accepting transfers on an ongoing basis. They say that we will hear from them one way or another by June 15th (yes they said June).

Unofficially I have heard multiple views on whats going on. One is transfers are on some sort of “unofficial” waiting list. For some reason no transfer student (that I know of) has been placed on a waiting list. High schoolers, on the other hand, were either denied, accepted, or put on a waiting list by May 1st (once again as far as I have heard).
A different but similar view is more gloomy. It is that we are on a waiting list, but to be accepted all of the High Schoolers on the waiting list are going to have to be accepted, which is extremely unlikely and means we will all receive denial letters on June 15th. I’m not so sure of this though, as a transfer student got in a few days ago and i believe it was going into engineering.
I believe cal poly is trying to get every transfer who is qualified in, but there just isn’t room.

TL;DR: It is normal, but not good. Chances look slim, but there is some hope. You can call and try to resolve but it will probably lead no where.

Good Luck!

I was like that until like April 20, and I got in. Sucks how making wait so long. Anyways good luck

My buddy is as a ME major transfer student and he received a denial letter. They’re giving out denials to transfers that applied to impacted majors.
