Application Status

I have a concern about my Harvard application status. I recently got my access code for the status page, and the page says they haven't received my teacher recommendations and school report, even though on the Common App it says "Downloaded by College" for each item. Should I be concerned, or does it just take a few days for them to update their database?

Also, I sent one of my ACT score reports to Harvard, and it says they received it, but for some reason, it also shows a different test date that they have not received. Do I need to send a report for that date too, even though they're only supposed to need one report?

I wouldn't be worried ordinarily, but it's sort of crunch time right now. ;)

It may take several weeks before your teacher recs show up on your Application Status. If they downloaded your teacher recs more than two weeks ago, call the Admissions Office to find out what happened.

The ACT does not send all scores from all test dates; you must individually check-off which score dates you want to send. Go back to the ACT website to make sure you sent Harvard scores from both test dates. If you sent both scores, call the Admissions Office and make sure they have both sets.

gibby, Thanks for the teacher rec info. About the test scores, shouldn’t they only need one score report?

See: [ACT Score Information: Delivery options and costs for sending your scores](<a href=“ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT”>ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT)

The ACT charges $10 per college PER TEST DATE. Did you pay for both test dates to be sent to Harvard, or just one?

I understand that I have to pay $10 separately for every score report I want to send, and I DID NOT pay for both tests. I’m just wondering why Harvard would want an additional score report when I’ve already sent them one.

I’m confused. Harvard has the score report you sent, but “it also shows a different test date that they have not received.” What does that mean? What is the “different test date?” Not sure I understand the issue.

Okay let me start over. I logged into my application status page, and it has two test dates listed, September 2011 and October 2011. The October date is followed by the word “official”, which, according to the site, means they have received an official score report. The September date is followed by the word “unofficial”, which means they HAVE NOT received an official report. According to the website, all items need to be “official” for the application to be considered complete. I’m just wondering why they even have the September date listed when they’ve already received an official report from the October date. Do I need to send a report for the September date too? I was under the impression that they only require one official report.

Thanks for sticking with me through this.

I’m not sure what the “unofficial” September 2011 date could be, unless it is for a self-reported or school reported score. When did you submit your common app?

I submitted it on 12/14.

I submitted my application yesterday. How can I know if they received my app?
I payed fee and sent in everything… hope they received it all…

Pianoman: Sorry, I don’t have a clue as to what it means. I would call the Admissions Office and ask.

Pensil: You should get an email from the Admissions Office about your application status in a couple of weeks.
