I've been checking my app status online daily, and one of my teacher recommendations and the secondary school report has not been 'received/processed' yet. It's Jan. 16 already. The teachers that did those sent them in a month ago! How much should I worry and what should I do? Thanx

I just checked my Columbia account and it's the same for me: both recommendations, H.s. transcript, secondary school report all not processed.

but they do have my sat/sat2 scores.

same here with the sats.
i got confirmations from the other east coast colleges that i applied to- only columbia's is not "complete" yet. could they really have not gotten to it a MONTH after it was sent?

I haven't even received a pin or anything to check my status with. Am I in trouble?

When I was applying, I noticed that Columbia takes a long time to update what documents have been received/non-received. Your best bet is to call the office or shoot off an inquiry e-mail. An e-mail might be better as it provides proof that you inquired on a specific date/time, and that you didn't just let things "slide".

I called and they said they were experiencing a lot of backup, so have patience.

yup, same situation, missing one rec letter, and the transcript/school report.

I'm in the same situation with my application. MY techer rec. and secondary school report has not been 'received/processed' yet. I sent it in about a month ago. I called the office and the said that it would just take a long time. But then I was wondering what if something happened to the forms that I sent in. Would they not review my application because they didn't recieve those forms. If columbia recieves you guys paper work can you reply and tell us when they recieved it and when u sent it.

oh wow okay GOOD.. i was freaking out cuz it says they haven't received one of my teacher recs ><

do you know if they notify you if there's anything missing? i know other schools like harvard do that~

I sent everything over a month ago. They finally received my teacher recs on the 26th, but they still don't have my Secondary School Report/Transcript. They said I would be 'contacted' if anything were missing.

Columbia received everything but Teacher Rec A for me. Apart from the SAT scores, that was the first document sent. Is it weird they havent received it yet? Perhaps lost in the mail? Its been over a month. Thanks.

Columbia has finally processed my Teacher B rec. on Jan. 24 which i sent a month ago, so the only things i need process are techer A rec., school transcripts, and the school report. Hopefully they will be processed soon since everything was sent all at once.

I submitted my app. online on 12/31, but I still haven't received my pin number to check my status online. Should I call and ask for it, or wait a bit longer? thanks.

wow...things went a bit scary now...

no rec B
no transcript
no school report....

people without pins should call and ask, it won't hurt you as long as you dont call 30 times and ask.

I called and got my PIN today. Looks as though I'm still missing things too -- my school report/transcripts, and one teacher Rec. I don't plan to call back to inquire about these for at least a couple of weeks... they seem to be stressing that we shouldn't call; that they will contact us if anything is missing.

Well, columbia has finally received all of the required materials. It took over a month and a half but they finally got it, so hopefully everybody else will get their materials processed soon too. gl :)

did anyone send in college transcripts? and if you did, did they get processed yet? everything i sent in has been processed, except my college transcripts so i'm worried they may be missing. -___-

should i be worried that some things were received in feb?? im positive my teacher sent my rec in at the end of dec.. but it says "feb. 7th"?!!
is that a problem? is it just b/c they were backed up?

To all. If you don't have an ID call the office of admissions and ask for one. If the online form says that some of your recs or scores or transcripts have not bee received/processed you also can call. The person who answers the phone can look in your file and see what's there. So long as you received an e-mail (if you did the online form) saying your application part 1 and 11 was received you've met the deadline. But, no, the admissions person said the ad comm doesn't get your file until it's complete. If your concerned, call. They're very helpful.
