Application Status

I submitted my application last week, and I created my "YouSC" account a few days ago, but I'm confused by the lingo of the you.usc.edu website.

"We have received both the Common Application and USC Supplement, and we are preparing your file for review. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application."

Does this mean my application is fully submitted? I know that all the components were sent, but it's concerning to me that there is no definitive "you have successfully registered as an applicant and will be considered for merit scholarships."

Thanks for any help y'all!

I suggest it means what it says. They have your CA and USC supps. Your part of the application submission is complete on time. They used to list other items (letters of rec, transcript, scores, and even supps for individual schools, like SCA, etc) to let applicants check that each outside component had arrived. Did you see that? Even if not visible (may not have it on current system), USC’s application deadline pertains to the items you listed as received. Congrats.

Thank you so much for your help @madbean‌ - I’ve seen your name around the USC threads and you seem to be an amazing person - in addition to being a BIG help :). I did see that my received documents were available under the “Documents” page of YouSC, but I just wanted clarification. Thanks again for all of your help - good luck to everyone and I will see y’all in the threads again this Jan/Feb :)

@ILSenior15‌ Hi! For received documents, I only have Academic History, Combined SAT or ACT Score, and Undergraduate Application. Could you tell me what you have in your Received Documents section?

I have:

~Academic History
~Additional Info
~Combined SAT or ACT Score
~Common Application
~High School Transcript
~Secondary School Report
~Supplement PDF
~Teacher Evaluation
~Undergraduate Application

Also - my status has updated! Now says:

“We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st. We often like to see the mid-year grades of freshman applicants. If you have not already done so, please submit your final, fall term marks when they become available. Submit a Mid Year Report school form, or click “Mid-Year Grades” in youSC. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will mail a written request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly.”

Hope I could help!

Thanks so much!
Mine still says it hasn’t received my Supplements… :frowning:
Maybe it’s because I sent it in on 12/1??
I hope it will be processed VERY soon. Or else I will shoot the admissions another mail to pester them.

When you are on the common app, you must hit review and submit for the common app and then go to the supplements and hit review and submit. Did you do this for both the common app and the supplements on the common app website?

youSC still says supplement not received

documents received are

Academic History

Additional Info

Combined SAT Score or ACT Score

Common Application

Undergraduate Application

submitted app on dec 1

I submitted mine on Nov 30 and it just showed up on my youSC today

so now under documents it shows supplement pdf under received documents and nothing under required documents. but on the status page it still says that supplement not ye received. so i guess they are slowly updating it.
