Wow ... the Duke admissions office is frustrating. Here is my situation:

My high school mailed my transcript, secondary school evaluation, and teacher evaluations together in the same envelope in November. In early December, my online application checklist indicated that the transcript and secondary school evaluation had been recieved. However, the website (as of 01/06/07) still doesn't indicate that my teacher evaluations have been recieved.

I called Duke twice to ask if my teacher reccomendations had been recieved or if they were lost in the filing process. I wanted to know if my school should resend the evaluations.

The first lady I spoke with was helpful, and she transfered to someone else who she said could physically look at the file and check. However, I ended up being transferred to her voicemail. I left a message explaining my situation and my number, and the person never returned my call.

The second time I called, they gave me the standard line about how long it takes to file everything, and that I shouldn't worry. She even told me the application deadline was extended to the 14th of January (Is this even right? I haven't seen it anywhere else). However, she couldn't tell me whether or not they had actually been recieved and she couldn't transfer me to anyone who could find out.

I then tried to send admissions a message through my online account. Each time I send the message it sends me back an automatically generated list of FAQs. There is no way to actually send my message to a real person. I can't find an e-mail address for Duke admissions either.

This is very frustrating. Should I go ahead and re-send the evaluations? It seems that if all of my stuff came in the same envelope and the rest of it was updated a month ago, my teacher evaluations should be entered into the system as well.
