<p>If you are applying ED there is a way to check you Application status online, it has a check list of all the things that are due. </p>
<p>One of which is "essay"</p>
<p>What does this mean? what is this elusive "essay"?
keep in mind this is seperate from the common app and pre application data sheet.</p>

i sent in my early application on sunday and still have not received an e-mail with my login stuff...</p>

<p>There is not an extra essay. When you submit the common app and it is processed both the common app AND the essay will be marked as received. The essay is just there for applicants that may submit their application by paper rather then common app.</p>
