application status

Is anyone able to view their application status yet?

^am wondering that too.

tulane is processing applications into their records system and the earliest applicants are just beginning to have access to view their application status

TulaneGreg, can you define “earliest applicants” to give a ballpark idea? My D submitted her application on 9/20. If we need to wait a bit longer that’s fine, but just getting an idea of where we are in the queue would be helpful.

Thanks, Dad2ILD

My son’s application is now listed as complete. He submitted it on Sept. 6th. How long until decisions are posted?

Being that early, I suspect not very long. In the past for obvious calls (obviously in or out), people as early as your son only waited a week or two. However, as they say on the brokerage commercials, past performance is no guarantee of future performance. But I see no reason to suspect otherwise at this point. TulaneGreg sounds like he is doing work-study in the admissions office, perhaps? If so, maybe he can give us more direct info.

Well I have been in contact with the admissions and she said: they will start to review application in mid-October so you should hear from us by the end of November.

I am very anxious as it is my top choice… =]

mrgrape - You are a transfer student, right? That is a different timetable than entering freshmen. That is an important difference to note.

The following was posted today:

Undergraduate Admissions (2011 Fall)
Your application is complete. The Committee on Admission is working to render your decision as quickly as possible. If you have questions regarding your status, please call the Undergraduate Admission Office at 800-873-WAVE (9283).

Yes, my son got that message yesterday.

My son has had that same message since Sept 2nd! He withdrew his application to Tulane today as he was just accepted Early Decision to Wake Forest. Good luck to all Tulane applicants.

Congrats to your son, tennismom.

Has anyone heard back from Tulane?

Hi. I applied to Tulane on September 13th, and my application status went “complete” around September 27th. I applied single choice early action and Tulane is my first choice school. I am incredibly anxious to hear back. Does anyone know from experience when I should receive some form of notification? I’ve heard Tulane is really speedy with informing applicants of decisions. Also, will I receive an email, a letter, or a change in my application status online?

You will most likely hear back within the next two weeks, if past history holds true. That’s assuming you are a strong candidate, otherwise they may wait until the deadline to see how the applicant pool is shaping up. You will hear by letter for sure, and you should see your status online before that. I am not sure about e-mail, I don’t think so.

when i was accepted i received a letter before finding out online (was an EA applicant). Some EA and SCEA decisions are beginning to be made for this year and applicants should start hearing shortly.
Transfers for the spring of 2011 are on a more expedited timeline as their application deadline is nov 1 and tulane tries to let transfers know in time to plan for housing, financial aid, etc.

My transcript and secondary report was sent about 3 weeks ago, and their website still says that those are missing. It’s kind of getting annoying; it’d be a big relief to know that all my materials have arrived so I don’t have to keep checking everyday.

NOLAhornets - call in to the admissions office (504-865-5731) and have them check your file - both on their electronic system and in the hard copy. This is much faster than waiting for the online system to confirm everything.

I emailed them and they said they received my transcript (which said the letter would be attached) but could not find the letter/secondary report.

My D’s transcripts were sent in a week ago. Was wondering if anyone could comment about how long it takes for transcripts to be entered / posted to Gibson, and then obviously how long after that your decision came? She has applied Single Choice Early Action, so we’re anxious in Illinois! :-)
