Application still under review...getting worried

Do you think that the order in which notifications are being sent has to do with whether or not it is an easy call, depending on region, or when people submitted the application? Because I submitted a few hours before the application was due on January 15th, so it would make sense if they sent decisions based on when the application was submitted...but I don't know...I'm getting worried. Thoughts?

I’m still under review. Were you differed? Mind sharing stats? I think it’s by major, I’m biochem and haven’t heard any biochems so far.

cocoa546, my s is in the same position. He applied on 11/10 and still hasn’t heard anything. Several of his friends were rejected. It’s hard to watch his spirits sink, but HS counselor told him today not to give up hope.

I was deferred and I’m also in wait mode. Better in wait mode than rejected I guess…

My son, who is now a junior at LMU, was deferred at first and not notified of his admission until March 23 the year he applied. My daughter is now deferred and still waiting. I think they admit the highest qualified candidates first, and then deal with the deferred and lower qualified candidates together later. I have seen some pretty impressive stats reported on this site by parents of admitted students, and I can tell you, my kids don’t have those stats! Hang in there!

I think LMU had close to 160 valedictorians as freshmen this year, so yes, stats are important, but they really do holistic evaluation. A student’s fit with the mission is a big deal. I also think there may be a bit of a bump when you are a sibling. Keep the faith!

Just got an email today saying I got in and will get a letter soon! Yay :)

glad to hear that, i’m still waiting, mind sharing stats? =(

I applied the end of November for the major of Communication Studies. I did message the undergraduate admissions office & they should be sending out decisions until end of this month. I’m so anxious – LMU is one of my top schools & I’ll 99% commit if accepted… :o

I applied for early decision almost in October and I was deferred. I am still waiting for a response and I am checking the online portal every day! It might be on region because I am from Pennsylvania. From what I have heard, big envelope is good and small envelope is bad (similar with most schools) and that they focus on ECs and how you plan to serve LMU’s mission as a prospective student. Either way, you should find out soon! I wish you the best of luck, and hopefully we will find out soon!

The wait is KILLING me.

I check MyLMU every hour… I don’t know how much longer I can wait

I emailed the admissions counselor two days ago and they say that all decisions should be mailed and sent out by April 1st! Maybe we’ll find out in the mail before the portal? I’m so nervous! I had a friend who currently attends LMU who found out his admittance 2 weeks into April – so there is a chance!

Data1530–here are my stats below. Good luck everyone! Waiting sucks but everyone will find out soon.

thx =)

I sent in my application in January and have yet to hear back. Also, my counselor forgot and sent my Senior Year grades late…like she just sent them the last week of February. Do you think that impacted their decision on my app?

lilykat1163, my son applied in November (11/10 RD) and still hasn’t heard back. He’s worried that this means he’s rejected since so many of his friends have heard back. Hang in there…

Im sensing more of a waitlist for us, idk… this is very stressful :/

My co worker (class of 2013 hs) was the same situation (accounting major) ; however, last year LMU had even less apps than this year( their undergrad department is 10 counselors only) and he received an email 2 weeks after April 1st that they apologized for running a little behind but he was nevertheless accepted and his letter would be coming in the mail.

As long as we remain positive – everything that happens, happens for a reason. Honestly at this point all we can do is wait. Nobody knows if we’re accepted except for LMU itself.
